by Tuesday at midnight each week to be considered for the following weeks open mics

OPEN MIC RULES

Before you grab the mic, please take a moment to read and respect the following rules:

1. Respect the Room

Be respectful of the audience, other comics, and staff.
No racial slurs, hate speech, or excessively vulgar content will be tolerated. This is a space for everyone to laugh and feel welcome.

2. Stay Sober on Stage

Do not perform under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
If you appear impaired, we reserve the right to remove you from the lineup or not let you perform.

3. No Vaping or Smoking Indoors

Keep it clean — no smoking or vaping inside the building or within 25 feet of the building at any time.

4. Respect the Venue

The Riot operates inside a hotel — please be considerate of hotel guests, hotel staff, comedy club employees, and bar staff at all times.
Treat the space like it’s your own (and one you’d like to be invited back to).

5. Don’t “Run the light”

You have 5 minutes for your set.
There’s a clock in the back of the room — we will not “light” you.
Do not start a new joke after your 5 minutes are up.
If you go over time, we’ll play music and cut the mic. Don’t make it awkward.

Each comedian gets 5 minutes of stage time.
